Products Under Development
Currently, Critia has several new products in development that are slated for introduction in the fourth quarter of 2005 and early 2006. As the products are announced, we will be updating this section of our site to provide product briefs and technical data sheets in PDF format.
Meanwhile, the following product previews will give some insight into the development activities at Critia Computer.
Polaris CPCI Regulus VME Castor VPX
Polaris AMD Opteron Reference Design for CompactPCI
The Polaris-RDK is a complete PCIMG® 2.0/R3.0 modular Single Board Computer which features the newest AMD Opteron EE-series processor. The initial release will feature the single core, 1.8GHz processor. It will support the dual core 1.6GHz processor after its release in Q4, 2005.
Like its namesake, the reference star Polaris, this design will serve as a trusted reference for AMD customers wishing to begin their specific product design efforts quickly. Polaris will also be available for purchase directly from Critia for development and system deployment.

Regulus VMEbus Opteron Single Board Computer Module
VMEbus-based systems are ideal candidates for the Opteron 64-bit processor technology. Regulus will provide a single-socket Opteron-based VME single board computer fully compliant with VME64x, ANSI/VITA 1.1. Regulus will feature dual GbE ports per ANSI/VITA 31.1 and high performance backplane transfers using 2eSST protocol per ANSI/VITA 1.5.
Regulus will support the 1.8GHz single and 1.6GHz dual core EE series Opteron processors as they become available.
Regulus will also feature a single HyperTransport XMC/PMC expansion site per the VITA 42.4 specification now being developed.

Castor Next Generation VPX Format Modular Multi-Processor System
Castor capitalizes on the Opterons multi-processor connection capabilities through the use of cache coherent HyperTransport Links. Castor is being developed in concert with VITA 46.5 (VPX). Using a backplane with the next generation high speed interconnect of VPX, it is possible to connect processor and I/O nodes using our HexLink methodology. This allows up to four Opteron-based nodes to be connected in a dual-pair topology with two additional slots for tunnel and high speed I/O functions. This will scale to a dual 4-way MP configuration with the dual-core Opteron processors later in 2005.
Castor will be uniquely able to scale in processing power to meet critical requirements. Like all Critia Computer products, Castor will utilize standards-based technology.
